Health & Beauty: Week 1 of the Fysiko Eyelash Growth Serum Journey

My 16-Week Supply of Fysiko EyeLash Growth Serum, May 12, 2013

Yesterday I began a four-month journey and hope you’ll stick around for it. No, it’s not a travel adventure nor is it some philosophical sabbatical trying to figure out the meaning of life. It’s a journey to hopefully enhance and grow long, lush eyelashes using Fysiko EyeLash Growth Serum. I recently joined a review site called Influenster which selected me to try this beauty product which retails for$139.

Why Try to Enhance My Lashes?
Growing up, my Great Aunt Helen told me I had beautiful, long lashes but never really believed her. I love the look of false lashes because they’re so feminine but I’m not that coordinated to glue them on properly. In fact, for a roller derby event (when I was skating) my lashes fell off in the middle of the function – how embarrassing!

Other lash mishaps have included somehow gluing my fingers together, gluing my eyelids shut, and putting them on lopsided. I’m just not as coordinated as my Buffalo-based makeup artist sister, Lizzy, who makes it look so easy. She has a bevy of lashes to choose from, too. Look above for traditional ones from Allure and Sassi and see below for fantasy lashes by Micha Paper Lash. Yes, they’re made from paper and come in whimsical patterns!

I don’t have dreams of over-the-top lashes long enough to cause a windstorm but I’m optimistic I’ll see some length and thickness.

The 16-Week Journey
What does using this lash enhancer entail? For each day over the next four months (that’s 16 weeks!) I’ll be applying the product to the base where my eyelashes grow. The application brush reminds me of one of those narrow, dainty brushes from painting class. I need to apply one layer (I realize I only did my top eyelid today) at least once and no more than twice a day.

The Fysiko EyeLash Growth Serum needs to be applied on clean eyes without my contacts in and I need to wait at least 15 minutes before popping in those contacts and applying eye makeup. Before dipping the brush back in the bottle it’s advised to clean it off with an alcohol swab.

The First Time
My first application of the lash enhancing serum felt cool and after I filmed a brief video about the product, I felt a slight tingle – maybe that means the cells of the natural serum are already stimulating eyelash follicles! That was it. I feared my eyes would sting, burn or water because they are so sensitive but there was no reaction at all. Nothing. And I think that’s a good sign.

I’ll be updating with at least three other blog posts during this journey so check back in about a month for updates.
