Did I score big on concert tickets from ScoreBig.com? Summertime means outdoor concerts and earlier this month, for one night I felt like a giddy teenager again (except for the beer in my hand). On a steamy Florida night I was dancing like a fool and singing at the top of my lungs as Def Leppard and KISS rocked the stage of the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre at the Florida State Fairgrounds, thanks to ScoreBig.com.

Ohmygoodness! If you have the chance, catch them on tour, especially if you’re a teenager of the ‘80s like me.

This opportunity came about because a representative with ScoreBig.com reached out with the offer of a $100 credit to use on the discount ticket site. In exchange, I needed to book something using the credit and blog about the experience. I could choose anything I wanted, whether something immediate or something later this year or beyond.

The reason I accepted this opportunity is because Dave Ramsey endorses ScoreBig.com which guarantees savings up to 60% off. If you don’t know who he is, he’s America’s trusted voice on money. During my walks, I listen to his wisdom-filled podcasts. Go ahead and Google him.

Booking a Concert on ScoreBig.com
I knew ScoreBig.com offered discounted tickets to sporting events and concerts, but didn’t realize they also offer tickets to other live events such as theater, Broadway, attractions and family shows.

Decisions, decisions. I chose to rock out and was presented with different price points and seating areas for the Def Leppard and KISS concert. The screen also displayed the average savings is 10%. There were three seating areas and price points to choose and I opted for the middle option. Seats were listed at about $72. I submitted a $60 bid for each of the two tickets I was requesting.

I don’t recall the exact wording by my offer was rejected!

Okay, I’d just re-submit another offer of $65 and see if that’s accepted. Or so I thought. ScoreBig.com has a 24-hour hold on placing an offer on a specific seating area. My options were to either choose a seating area closer to the stage, which had a higher price point, or the lawn, which was less, or, to purchase at the listed price.

Being a nervous nellie and unsure if the tickets would be available 24 hours from then, and with a busy schedule, I just wanted to grab the tickets and be done with it and picked up the two tickets for $72 each, which meant I ended up paying the difference between the credit and the total amount.

Booked Tickets, But Would They Legit?
Then the waiting. Would the tickets really be together? When I received notification from ScoreBig.com the tickets were ready for download (sometimes they are shipped out or available for will call, I suppose it’s on a per live event basis), the tickets were indeed together. But were they valid?

Evening of the concert, I handed my aunt her ticket and held my breath as the ticket-taker scanned them both. Yes! They worked! ScoreBig.com is legit!

The seats were located about three rows from the back of the amphitheater which worked out well because there were other empty seats around us so we could move around, dance and rock and roll all night long. Well, until 11 p.m. when the noise curfew began.

What I Liked About ScoreBig.com

  • A variety of live events to choose from including concerts, tickets to Busch Gardens and Tampa Bay Lightning Games.
  • No ticket service charges and free delivery.
  • Control in choosing the seating area and price.
  • There’s no messing around after an offer is made, you find out immediately.
  • If you see an event is sold out, request to be notified if/when tickets become available.
  • After registering on the site, I received a credit for $10 off my next ScoreBig.com booking.

What I Didn’t Like About ScoreBig.com

  • The site guarantees a saving on every ticket, although I’m not really sure if I scored a deal.
  • The 24-hour hold thing. But, I can deal with it if I’m not in urgent need of securing tickets.

Will I try ScoreBig.com again? Absolutely! I’ve already set up alerts on a couple of other upcoming live events. And remember, use them not just for events in your backyard but during your travels, especially for theme park and attraction tickets.

What concerts are you looking forward to this summer?

Disclosure: I received a credit on ScoreBig.com in order to experience the booking process and blog about it. These are my honest opinions and this post has not been reviewed by ScoreBig.com representatives.
