Robert Is Here Fruit Stand, Florida City, Fla. - A Must-Stop When Visiting Everglades National Park
Robert Is Here! No, not “here” but there in Florida City which is the gateway to Everglades National Park. Robert Is Here is the name of the fruit stand where Robert, when he was a kid, set up a small fruit and veggie stand. People would stop and ask, “Is Robert here?” Hence, the inspiration for the favorite fruit and veggie stand which is a must-stop attraction when heading into Everglades National Park’s main entrance.
It’s a place to try exotic fruits you’ve probably never heard of or even tasted. It’s where I first tried a fruit that tasted like chocolate pudding (black sapote) and gained appreciation for South Florida’s agriculture.
If there’s one thing to purchase at Robert Is Here it’s a tropical fruit milkshake. Key lime is a must. C’mon, it’s Florida! Since I’ve had plenty of key lime milkshakes in my day, I opted for key lime-cherry during my visit last month, the perfect mix of sweet and tart.
Enjoy these images of one of my favorite things I enjoyed when living in Flamingo in Everglades National Park.
