First, no, I haven’t gone all extreme couponer on this blog, although, I’ve been seriously couponing for about a year and am finally getting the hang of it.
Second, apologies for not posting this earlier in the weekend so you could take advantage of it sooner.
Back to the gas card deal at Publix…
Now through Jan. 11, 2012 (the deal started Jan. 5), visit a participating Florida Publix, spend $25 in groceries and pay $40 for a $50 gas card! You need to have the $10 off coupon which you can find in the weekly circular (valid Jan. 5 – 11, 2012).
I primarily do my grocery shopping at Publix and with the BOGO deals happening (such as Quaker Oats, Fresh Express Salad), it was easy to reach $25. According to the coupon, the offer is valid at Publix grocery stores in these Florida counties of: Charlotte, Citrus, Collier, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Osceola Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota and Sumter and the Publix at Stoneybrook Hills Village in Mount Dora.
Of course, there’s fine print (i.e.: coupon required for each deal; one deal and coupon accepted for every $25 purchase) so read it and PIX cards are excluded.
Why am I couponing? Because when I can save on everyday expenses, I can pay down my debt, pay for unexpected medical bills and save for traveling. Plus, the cost of gas is rising so gathering gas cards at a reduced price or next to nothing helps out. It easily costs $40 to fill up my car.
There are several blogs I read for couponing, savings and budgeting tips. Here are a few:
- Living Well, Spending Less (Ruth lives in Southwest Florida, too! I found out about the Publix gas card deal through her vlog on YouTube)
- Time 2 Save Workshops
- Freebies 4 Mom (it’s not just for moms!)
- Punch Debt in the Face (he’s young yet so fiscally wise and funny! Love the drawings.)
Don’t worry, I don’t have a stockpile with 47 jars of mustard or 113 tubes of toothpaste. As for a stockpile of hotel soap and shampoo, that’s another story…
Happy savings for happy traveling!
