Wordless Wednesday: Placida, Fla.

Sunday I had the opportunity to spend some time in the adorable fishing community of Placida, located in Charlotte County in  Southwest Florida. I simply love it for its authenticity and admit I don’t spend enough time there. If you visit, plan on lunch or dinner at the Fishery Restaurant (13000 Fishery Rd. Tel: (941) 697-2451) and be sure to check out the Margaret Albritton Gallery, The Hatch Gallery and the other shops including a fresh seafood market.

Enjoy these snapshots from Sunday’s visit.

She spent a decade with a park management company in Yellowstone, Death Valley, and Everglades National Parks. She founded the travel blog, SoloTravelGirl.com with the goal of inspiring others to travel alone, not lonely. The unexpected death of her former husband in 2008 reminded her how short life is. His passing was a catalyst for sharing her experiences with the goal of inspiring and empowering others to travel solo.
