Florida Travel: Visit the Singing Tower at Bok Tower Gardens Near Orlando

I hummed along with the familiar song singing through Bok Tower Gardens but couldn’t quite put my finger on what song it was. Something by James Taylor? Nope. Barry Manilow? Maybe. Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” Yes!

Things to do Near Asheville, N.C.: WNC Cheese Trail

Fall was on its way into Western North Carolina and I was fortunate to see a hint of the season. My destination was Mountain Farm in Burnsville, a stop in the new Western North Carolina Cheese Trail.

Feed a Giraffe and Other Animals at Giraffe Ranch in Dade City, Florida

I rubbed the nose of a camel, felt the tongue of a giraffe, and fed grapes to ring-tailed lemurs last weekend and it was a totally amazing experience. Best of all, I didn’t need a passport. These and other animals live a seemingly happy life at Giraffe Ranch, a 47-acre private property just a 45 minute drive north of Tampa in Dade City, Fla.

Cottonelle Puppy’s TBEX 2012 Adventure in Photos

Good Eating at Nancy’s Bar-B-Q in Sarasota, Florida

I’m not ashamed to admit I inhaled my pulled pork sandwich at Nancy’s Bar-B-Q in Sarasota, Fla., in mere minutes. It wasn’t because I was in a hurry but because it was insanely delicious. Piled high on a soft bun, the 4 ounce pork dripped with a sweet tomato-based barbecue sauce complementing the meat’s delightful […]

My Top 10 Travel Adventures of the Decade

My new passport arrived last week. It’s so clean and empty. A decade has passed since I received my first passport- yeah, I didn’t get one until I was 30 years-old – and thumbing through brought back all sorts of memories. As 2011 comes rushing in, I have a few trips planned for the upcoming […]
