Have a SummerBlast! at Hilton Bonnet Creek this Summer
Don’t just have a blast this summer, have a SummerBlast! There’s no disputing Central Florida is the theme park capital of the world but that doesn’t mean it’s the kids who have all the fun. In fact, this summer I’m looking forward to checking out the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland as well as Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley in Universal Orlando.

Coinciding with Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival is the third annual Food & Wine Weekends at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Who said kids have all the fun in Central Florida? The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek reminded me adults, whether traveling solo, as a couple or with a group, can have just as much of a good time as children. I recently landed smack dab in the middle of Cupcake Lovers Weekend, part of the hotel’s […]

I tiptoed through the tulips for my 40th birthday and this year I pedaled through the treetops on the Cypress Canopy Cycle at Florida EcoSafaris in St. Cloud. With a college degree in “rocks and dirt”, as I like to say, I have a thing for dinosaurs. Sunday I had the opportunity to visit Dinosaur World in Plant City, Fla., located between Tampa and Orlando, just off Interstate 4. If you’ve driven that way, you’ve seen the Tyrannosaurus rex standing by, attracting visitors. […]
Continue ReadingOff to Star Wars Celebration V in Orlando!
[Cue music, scroll text.] I’m heading to Orlando tomorrow to attend Star Wars Celebration V.What is SWCV? It’s basically an official Star Wars convention and lucky me. Beauty of living in Florida is access to groovy events such as a Star Wars convention! I’m not thinking Star Wars Celebration V will be a life-altering experience […]
Continue ReadingThree Reasons Why Solo at Disney Ain’t So Bad
Walt Disney World and Disney culture was a big part of my childhood and has grown up with me. Living in Florida with easy access to Walt Disney World Resort is a dream and finally being a card-carrying season pass holder is a sense of accomplishment. One of the biggest fears I overcame as a […]

ICE! ICE! Baby! Sorry, couldn’t resist… Gaylord Palms (6000 W. Osceola Parkway) in Kissimmee, Fla., has a pretty COOL exhibit running since Nov. 14 through Jan. 3, 2010, called ICE! It’s two million pounds of frozen water carved into amazing sculptures in which visitors can admire but not touch nor lick. (There was a sign […]
