Nik and Lijana Wallenda trained in Sarasota for their June 23, 2019, high-wire walk over New York City’s Time’s Square. They will walk 1,250 feet, starting at opposite ends, 25 stories high, on a wire 3/4” in diameter.

Have you heard? Nik Wallenda, The King of the High Wire, will walk atop a wire across the Chicago River in what’s being called Skyscraper Live (#SkyscraperLive) on Nov. 2, 2014. And guess what? He’s been training in his hometown of Sarasota so of course I had to see him train.

Are you stalking Nik Wallenda? A friend jokingly asked Sunday evening after I uploaded photos from his training. So yeah, counting today, I’ve seen the “King of the Wire” train four times at Sarasota, Florida’s Nathan Benderson Park prior to his Sunday walk across the Grand Canyon.
