Don’t just have a blast this summer, have a SummerBlast! There’s no disputing Central Florida is the theme park capital of the world but that doesn’t mean it’s the kids who have all the fun. In fact, this summer I’m looking forward to checking out the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland as well as Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley in Universal Orlando.
Where to rest my head? The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek offers some adult-only fun without feeling out of place, plus free transportation to and from the Disney parks. Oh, they’re family-friendly, too, if that’s how you roll.
On summer weekends May 23 through Aug. 31, 2014, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek offers SummerBlast! which is a celebration of 101-days of summer vacation. Activities for kids and adults include pool fun, arts and crafts for the kids, twilight golf at the sister property Waldorf Astoria Golf Club, family golf, ice cream socials and poolside movies, just to name a few activities. Over select dates they offer specialty weekends.
You may recall, last summer I visited during their Cupcake Lovers Weekend (which is June 14 & 15 this year) and oh, my! I definitely got sugared up during that delicious weekend which included a cupcake unveiling, selection of cupcakes ranging from sweet to savory, and a lesson with a mixologist to craft some cupcake-inspired cocktails.
And, I also wandered over to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and was converted into a princess at their pampering spa. Ahhh…I remember it like yesterday.
In addition to Cupcake Lovers Weekend, the two other Specialty Weekends are:
- Memorial Day Weekend, featuring SummerBlast! Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. (Saturday, May 24)
- Fourth of July Weekend, featuring SummerBlast! Fireworks (Saturday, July 5)
