A Solo Travel Girl Is: Electric, Eclectic and Energetic

From A to Z, what are the characteristics of a solo travel girl? Look out, this gal is sizzling because she’s electric, eclectic and energetic!

Electric – Although she was dressed in bling from head to toe (including a tiara) the phrase, “the room lit up when she walked in,” is derived from the solo travel girl’s electric personality when she attended a ball eons ago. The moniker still sticks in the 21st century and this gallivanting gal radiates with magnificent energy which is the key driver in checking things off her bucket list.

Eclectic – The solo travel girl is as unique as a snowflake. It takes a certain personality to set out on the open road alone. The more she travels and entrenches herself in various cultures the more her global perspective changes and influences her day-to-day life. With each step of a new solo adventure she gains confidence and strength. She’s just as comfortable and happy sitting around a campfire as she is dining in a four-star restaurant and will always wear her pearls in both of those settings.

Energetic – If one’s traveling solo, this usually means she has a full plate because she doesn’t have anyone to share the sometimes daunting task of travel planning. Sure, she selects her itinerary but she has the responsibility of conducting research, making reservations and staying alert during the trip.

This solo travel girl knows life is short and learned early in her road warrior days to make the most of every minute, such as waking up at 5 o’clock in the morning to see Buckingham Palace prior to a 10 a.m. meeting in London. She didn’t know when the opportunity would present itself again.

It may appear somewhat exhausting being an independent traveler but she feeds on an internal drive to keep her going, and going, and going…

I’d also like to introduce you an “E” gal, Emily Ellyn of the Next Food Network Star fame to read what’s in her beauty bag.

Are you a solo travel girl? What other qualities beginning with the letter “E” can be attributed to a solo travel girl?

  1. “The more she travels and entrenches herself in various cultures the more her global perspective changes and influences her day-to-day life.” This sums me up in a nut shell! I love this post, thank you!

  2. I would love to be more of a world traveller, but until I have more money, more time, and less parenting duties, it’s not going to happen.

Even so, all of those E’s are required characteristics in a parent too!

Visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial with My Dog

Driving through Western Pennsylvania’s rolling farmland, I held back tears thinking of the afternoon’s destination, the Flight 93 National Memorial. Almost 20 years later, the thoughts of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, still trigger deep emotions.
