Wordless Wednesday: This Bud’s for Him

This Bud’s for opens in a new windowSteven Slater, the “rogue” JetBlue flight attendant who not only did what some in the airline industry dream of doing, but for doing what anyone who has worked in the service industry would secretly like to do – at least I would. Here’s a quick recap of Salter’s move: after being treated with disrespect, he told the passenger off using words the passenger had said to him, grabbed a few cold ones and made a dramatic exit down the airplane’s inflatable slide. How would I have done a great escape?

I suppose the most dramatic option would be taking off in a boat but my luck, the engine would break down, I’d be drifting aimlessly and a shark would probably jump in the boat to end things.

And after reading flight attendant Bobby Laurie’s book opens in a new window“Planley Speaking,” I can understand why Slater did what he did.

So Steven Slater, this Bud’s for you (and the other for me to give you a toast).

I do wonder what happened to the passenger – what does he have to say about things?
