This Restaurant in Englewood, Florida, Serves Over-the-Top Bloody Marys

This over-the-top Bloody Mary has two fried soft shell crabs, shrimp, scallops, olives, peppers, celery, dill pickle, bacon and of course, Bloody Mary.

You shouldn’t drink your calories, but what if your beverage is made to be a meal? I recently enjoyed a meal in a glass, specifically, an over-the-top Bloody Mary at a restaurant in Englewood, Fla.

On a recent Friday night, I met a friend for dinner at Blue Pineapple Bistro on Dearborn Street in Englewood. On the eatery’s specials board, I noticed “soft shell crab Bloody Mary.”

“Are those two different things?” I asked the server as she seated me on the outdoor deck under a big tree.

In fact, they weren’t. It was a soft shell crab Bloody Mary!

This Bloody Mary is Awesome!

Oh. My. Goodness. It contains two fried soft shell crabs, shrimp, scallops, olives, dill pickle, bacon, peppers, celery and of course, bloody Mary! The glass rimmed is lined with a spicy salt. It is oh. So. Good!

The Blue Pineapple Bistro serves a variety of insane Bloody Marys like one with cheeseburger sliders, another with shrimp and pineapple, and another called bagel and cream cheese.

They also have delectable tacos and ceviche! My friend and I ordered Cajun shrimp and grilled chicken tacos and swapped so we could taste both. The corn salad side was excellent, too. My eyes were much bigger than my stomach, the Bloody Mary was a meal in itself. As for how much it cost, well, it was over-the-top, too, but worth it.

I can’t wait to return and try their other over-the-top Bloody Marys!
