This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. To celebrate, NASA and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is pulling out the stops to celebrate. This includes what promises to be an artistic, eclectic performance by British rockers, Duran Duran? in the Rocket Garden.

Duran Duran Brings Out the Teenage Girl in Me

When I found out about their upcoming performance in the Rocket Garden, it made me realize the teenage girl in me is still very much alive. Plus, my favorite band AND NASA have a connection???

Duran Duran was MY band while growing up in the 80s. I purchased just about every album and 45 that was released, decorated my bedroom with posters of the band, and collected buttons. I even re-wrote lyrics to their songs. Unfortunately, I never attended a concert.

Yeah, I was a bit obsessed. But, their music also pulled me through the awkward teen years. I had many dark days and their music showed me the brighter side of life.

During my flight back from Berlin in March, I watched a documentary about Duran Duran and it brought back all the feels.

Anyway, here are the deets about the Duran Duran performance on Tuesday, July 16 as part of the Apollo 50th Anniversary Events.
