How Will You Stay Healthy During the Holiday Travel Season?

‘Tis the season for running around and new Culturelle Advanced Immune Defense may give that extra boost during this busy and oftentimes stressful time of year. In the past and like clockwork, this time of year I would usually end up getting sick because I didn’t take care of myself. In addition to air travel, I wouldn’t get enough rest, wouldn’t eat properly and didn’t take supplements. I felt drained and run down which meant I had a weakened immune system and more susceptible to getting sick.

I’ve learned to take better care of myself by exercising regularly, eating better including less processed and more whole foods, listening to my body and getting rest when I’m tired, and incorporating supplements into my wellness routine. Solo Travel Girl (STG): What tips do you have for travelers flying when they are next to someone who’s coughing and/or sneezing or in other words, obviously sick?

Beth Blair (BB): If a passenger is sitting next to someone sick, it never hurts to ask a flight attendant to relocate to another seat. If moving seats is not an option the best way to protect yourself is to have a tissue ready to cover your face when your seatmate sneezes or coughs.

STG: The holidays can be hectic and immune systems can be compromised, what tips do you have to stay healthy?

BB: Staying healthy goes beyond hand washing. Luckily there are easy steps you can take to stay on top of your immune health:

  • Get enough sleep, it’s imperative since it’s the body’s time to recharge.
  • Stay hydrated and choose whole foods as often as possible, this will keep your body running its best.

STG: What are the germiest places in an airport, how should they be avoided and what can travelers do to stay healthy?
