Traveling to New York for the Big Game? Lucky you! A new weather app called Weather 2020 predicts a snow-free game – and the prediction was announced in early January.

New Weather App Predicts No Snow on Game Day
On January 7, one of the press pitches that landed in my inbox was from Weather 2020’s “people” stating come Feb. 2, 2014, no snow will impact the Big Bowl Game being held at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. A couple of days passed and media talking heads chattered about snow possibly causing the big game to be moved to another date. Early weather reports contradicted what Weather 2020 had predicted. In fact, Weather 2020 is contradicting The Old Farmer’s Almanac (196-year-old annual long-range reference guide predicting the weather) which calls for possible snow and bitter cold. Hearing this, I didn’t want to post the prediction in case Weather 2020 was wrong.

Well, we’re a day away from game day and it looks like Weather 2020 may have it right. The app’s forecast is predicting no precipitation and temperatures in the 40s beginning Feb. 1 up with temperatures dropping at kickoff.

Can this Smartphone App Really Work?
Weather 2020, launched in December 2013, uses human analysis for weather forecasts that are more precise and more accurate than any existing computer-generated models. It provides weather forecasts up to 12 weeks in advance by using revolutionary weather forecasting technology called Lezak’s Recurring Cycle (LRC). The technology was created by Gary Lezak, a seasoned weather expert and current chief meteorologist at Kansas City’s 41 Action News.

“Our forecast comes in sharp contrast from other weather predictors that have been warning of snow in East Rutherford for the big game,” said Lezak, Weather 2020 founder. “We are very confident that the forecast we issued in early January will be accurate.”

I’ll be tuning into the Big Game to see if Weather 2020’s prediction was spot on. Of course, I’ll be paying attention to the commercials because I really don’t care who wins.

Consult Weather 2020 for Vacation and Event Planning Beyond the Big Game
Weather 2020 can be used to assist in planning your vacations and outdoor events. Those with iOS 7-enabled devices can put LCR-based weather forecasts in the palm of their hand by downloading the free weather app. The free download includes Weather 2020’s short-range (seven-day) and long-range (12-week) forecasts for unlimited locations.

Personal weather balloons can customize and track events up to 12-weeks in advance with alerts of any changing conditions for designated dates. A weather balloon launch will provide app users with real-time email and ping alerts when the forecast for their tracked date is updated, a valuable feature as weather is a decisive factor when planning events and vacations. Unlimited weather balloons can be launched for one month, three months and one year for 99 cents, $2.99 and $8.99, respectively. The app includes weather forecasts for the continental U.S. and Hawaii.

Visit the Apple’s App Store to download Weather 2020 and use it for your long-term vacation and event planning.

Weather 2020 can be found online at and in social media on Facebook at, Twitter at @weather2020, Pinterest at, and Instagram at The website includes a blog regularly updated by Lezak.
