Here’s a healthy dose of fall for your NutriBullet , a Green Pumpkin Spice Smoothie recipe.

I love fall but the season seems to be bypassing Southwest Florida this year. I landed at Tampa International Airport at midnight on October 7 and it was in the low 80s and humid! Today was hot and humid, too. If I can’t wrap myself in a cozy sweater and kick around red, orange and gold-colored leaves, I can indulge in the literal flavor of autumn.

As I posted last month, I’m on a #StepstoWellness journey which Coca-Cola kicked off and I’m continuing on my own with Sarasota nutritionist Nora Clemens . Nutrition Nora is helping me make smarter choices when it comes to eating.

She mentioned something about fall and pumpkin which set me on a mission to create my own breakfast smoothie. Over the weekend I modified my standard breakfast smoothie recipe with this Green Pumpkin Spice one. Yes, the result is green but it tastes pumpkin-y and is a great way to start the day!

Ingredients
1 cup raw spinach (or a little more)
¼ cup dry oatmeal
¼ cup canned pumpkin
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1/8 tsp ground cardamom
1/8 tsp ground allspice
1/8 tsp ground cloves
6 oz unsweetened almond milk

Directions
Combine all ingredients in the order listed above in the NutriBullet tall cup. Mix with the Extractor Blade. Enjoy!

Notes:

If you like a more vanilla flavor, add ½ tsp vanilla or use unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
If you like it a little sweeter, throw in a little Truvia.
Rather than all the above spices you could probably use pumpkin pie spice.
If you like your smoothies a little thinner, add water to your liking.

Goats. Yoga. Beer. Yup. Together They are a Thing with Goat Yoga Tampa

My goat yoga experience was like my in-home Pilates workouts. At home, when I lay down to begin the workout, my 45-pound dog jumps on my stomach thinking it is playtime. Similarly, during goat yoga, while on my back about to begin a magical yoga pose, a 40-pound goat jumped on my stomach. The difference […]
