From A to Z, what are the characteristics of a solo travel girl? This vagabond vixen is a zippy, zesty and zealous!

Zippy – Heads turn when the STG saunters by as they are taken aback by her fresh and lively demeanor and style.

Zesty – She has more zest than a lemon peel. This gal is full of spunk, energy and born with itchy travel feet.

Zealous – Her life solely doesn’t revolve around selfish travel, in fact, she is devoted to a specific purpose and enthusiastically does all she can to advance it.

She spent a decade with a park management company in Yellowstone, Death Valley, and Everglades National Parks. She founded the travel blog, SoloTravelGirl.com with the goal of inspiring others to travel alone, not lonely. The unexpected death of her former husband in 2008 reminded her how short life is. His passing was a catalyst for sharing her experiences with the goal of inspiring and empowering others to travel solo. When not traveling, she is either in the kitchen, practicing her photography skills, or road tripping with her dog, Radcliff.

Visiting the Flight 93 National Memorial with My Dog

Driving through Western Pennsylvania’s rolling farmland, I held back tears thinking of the afternoon’s destination, the Flight 93 National Memorial. Almost 20 years later, the thoughts of the tragic events of September 11, 2001, still trigger deep emotions.

Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park: Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk

Reading inspires adventure. After reading “The Orchid Thief” by Susan Orlean earlier this year, visiting Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park became a priority. I finally stepped foot in Florida’s largest state park and soon realized, I’ll need to make a return visit or two.
