I’m the first to admit as a travel blogger, one of my weaknesses is self-promotion but I’m absolutely giddy over this! Feb. 2, uploaded a slideshow called “21 Girl Trips You Love – and Deals to Match” and guess who’s included? Me!

Well, not ME but “Solo Travel Girl Blog”, which is ME!

How did this happen? Well, not to dissipate my own thunder, I’m guessing anyone who’s a fan of the Budget Travel Magazine Facebook Page has a shot of being included in an article. They frequently seek reader input then publish the answers. They were recently seeking advice from Facebook fans on best girl trips and I had to share some of my “Icelandic Volcano Changed but Did Not Ruin My European Vacation” (to the Pacific Northwest) trip. Remember, my big 40th birthday celebration? I had no idea they actually read what fans wrote and use it on their site. How cool is it? So, I did a screen capture, see “Solo Travel Girl Blog” credited? OK, I know that shot is small so below is a close-up. In that short blurb I included the girlie day in Portland, Woodburn Tulip Festival, chocolate tour in Seattle, quick visit to Forks (Twilight country!), and Victoria, B.C.

So yeah, seeing this just made my week!

Tell me, what’s the best girl trip you’ve taken? Or where do you want to visit on a gal getaway?

  1. I have never gone on a solo road trip of more than a 300 mile distance from where I was living or staying, but I’m considering a cross country trip this summer. It’s both exciting and daunting to think about! There are so many things I would like to see, and on most of my stops I would have a friend or family member to stay with. Washington State to Florida? What do you think?!!

  2. Go for it! My problem on long distance road trips is I want to stop and see everything along the way! There’s some great scenery between Washington and Florida – especially national parks and monuments – so plan your trip and hit the road.
