Exploring Las Vegas, New York City and More with Gay Travel Buddy

Traveling through Japan with my gay travel pal Matt back in 2004 was a blast. During our adventure, he demonstrated his keen instinct for finding the coolest restaurants and coffee shops in what appeared to be sketchy areas but turned out to be glorious gems. Almost like an explorer, he found his way to Tokyo’s gay nightlife district – was that a night to remember!

Not everyone can travel with my friend Matt but travelers seeking Gay bars, gay friendly hotels, and the best gay beaches in the hottest travel destinations have a website called Gay Travel Buddy to refer. The site is expanding each day and in exchange for sharing information about the site, they’re supporting my travel habit.

Some of the destinations featured include the Las Vegas Area. I recommend walking the strip one evening and soak the energy in from fighting pirates to exploding volcanoes and music pouring into the streets. A Las Vegas buffet is a must and when I return next, I’m taking in a Cirque du Soleil show. And if you haven’t seen them – Blue Man Group rocks! Oh yeah, forgot about walking the casino floors listening to the ding-ding of slot machines and the occasional scream from someone winning big. Of course, having lived there, I recommend a trip out to Death Valley National Park and yes, it is hot enough in the summer to fry an egg on the sidewalk. See what Gay Travel Buddy recommends to do while visiting the Las Vegas Area.

Another destination featured is the Big Apple, the City that Never Sleeps, the one, the only New York City. Where to begin? Walk the Brooklyn Bridge, ride the Staten Island Ferry (free!) and walk through Times Square at midnight to see how alive the City is. Dining options in New York are bountiful and I taste something new with each visit. Sadly, for all the trips I’ve made to New York, I haven’t taken in a show. A must on my next trip.

I could go on and on about other destinations featured on the site, including the San Franciso, Castro Area (streetcar, Fisherman’s Wharf and crab bisque – all musts!) and San Diego Hillcrest Area (offering a bevvy of dining and nightlife options).

Let Gay Travel Buddy be your friend when planning your next vacation.
