Postcard from Cape Cod Bay Circa 1977. “Hope You All Enjoyed the Wedding for What it Cost.”

Over the weekend I rummaged through thrift shops and antique stores for old National Geographic magazines. While I didn’t find any, I did pick up some fun postcards from Steve’s Shadow Box (1522 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota, Fla.). While the images are fun, I’m more intrigued with what’s written on the back.

Reading the back of this one sent from parents vacationing in Cape Cod Bay to either their son or daughter in Connecticut made me chuckle.

It reads,

Dear Diana & Al,
I hope you all enjoyed the wedding for what it cost it would be sinful if you didn’t.
We’re relaxing and enjoying. The weather is great!
Love,
Mom & Dad

Makes me wonder, are the parents referring to their child’s wedding? Are they referring to a wedding the children attended?

Either way, I love it!

Note: I can’t read the postmark but doing a search about the stamp indicates it was issued in 1977.
