I’m so excited to announce I’ll be lecturing on travel to participants of Edison State College’s Lifelong Learning Institute on Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, between 1 and 3 p.m. at the Charlotte Campus in Punta Gorda, Fla. Details will be posted on the Institute’s website in August including the full course schedule and pricing. (I’m volunteering but there is a minimal fee to support the program.)
To say I’m thrilled is an understatement. At one point I dreamed of teaching (as well as being a mail carrier, veterinarian and photojournalist) and maybe this is my way of fulfilling that. Following is the course title and description. Without a doubt, I’ll be tapping friends in my travel community for their stories and ideas to deliver a fun and informational presentation. Stay tuned!
Evolution of Travel: Staying Connected and Being Responsible
Evolution in technology and household dynamics has changed how we travel in the twenty-first century. During the last century National Geographic inspired us to dream about exotic lands and we piled in the Chevy station wagon for annual summer vacations. Learn about unique travel opportunities, modern technologies to stay connected to home, and responsibilities of the modern traveler while listening to first-hand accounts of journeys to Afghanistan, Cuba and Japan.
