Celebrate First Day of Summer with Free Admission into U.S. National Parks on June 21, 2011

If you visit this blog often, you know I’m a big supporter of our country’s national parks. Although admission is already a bargain, the U.S. National Park Service will be celebrating the beginning of summer with free admission into National Parks on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Find the list of participating national parks by state on the opens in a new windowNational Park Service website.

Beyond June 21, there are two more dates in 2011 when the National Park Service will waive admission, these are:

  • Sept. 24 for Public Lands Day
  • Nov. 11 – 13 for Veterans Day Weekend.

Note: Although entrance fees, commercial tour fees and transportation entrance fees are waived, fees as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included, unless otherwise noted.

Peace River Wildlife Center (PRWC) Hospital is receiving and treating more patients this year over last year. To accommodate the increase, the center is building new outdoor caging and fencing for the hospital.
