Who doesn’t love cool things? Well here’s something super cool, Shutterfly’s Wink photostrips™.  (Shutterfly is an online photo sharing and printing site and offers a free membership, similar to Kodak, Flickr and Picassa but not quite.)

Fashioned after those fun photostrips taken in a photobooth (this is a photostrip sample from the company Plumb Fun, taken in 2007), Wink now lets users create their own photostrips by uploading photos from their computer, Facebook, Flickr, Shutterfly or iPhone to create a three, four or five-image pohtostrip. For $2.50, create the strip and have it mailed to anyone, anywhere.

I can see using this during my travels to create and send personalized messages and images straight from the road. Rather than spending time combing through a postcard rack and finding the appropriate postage to send a postcard, I can snap photos with my iPhone, upload them to the free “Wink from Shutterfly” iPhone app, add special effects if I wish (vivid – which I love, makes colors pop; black and white; sepia; or no effects) and send. Wink uses PayPal for payment making it easy to pay. I ordered several strips last week and they arrived within the week in a pretty slick mailer. (Image at top.)

When sending a photostrip to someone, you can also send an electronic strip so they know what to expect and it can be shared on Facebook and Twitter. Have I mentioned how I love this product?

I recommend preloading addresses in your Shutterfly account before hitting the road and using Wink with your iPhone. The only issue I had was Flickr acted a little hinky and had to log in twice but was eventually able to upload images. And here’s something extra special, your first photostrip is FREE! You don’t pay a dime, krona, or euro to try it out. If you’re like me, you’ll be hooked.

Thanks to Heather over at “Freebies 4 Moms” for posting about these super cool Wink photostrips. And no, I’m not a mom but absolutely love her blog!
