I’m introducing a new weekly post, “Feel Good Friday.” Fridays are good things, they signify the beginning of the weekend, a chance to do what you want, whether it’s to do nothing or pack in as much as you can. Posts may have something to do with travel or they may not. It just depends on what I consider “feel good” and material. Enjoy this Solo Travel Girl Feel Good Friday post about dreamy actor Rob Lowe.

Anything involving Rob Lowe and candy bars is going to be yummy so I can’t wait to see the 25-minute short being directed by the actor called, “Butterfinger the 13th.” The comedy-horror is the first candy bar produced film.

“Butterfinger’s history with irreverent comedy drew me to this really unique, fun project,” said director Lowe, who plays ‘Chris Traeger’ on hit comedy ‘Parks and Recreation’ and recently guest starred on three episodes of ‘Californication.’ “As an artist, I get to explore the world of horror movie-making with a comedic twist. It’s going to be a psychological thriller that will leave you laughing.”

“Butterfinger the 13th” will bring to life the candy bar’s “Nobody’s Gonna Lay A Finger” tagline while warning fans “You Can’t Scream With Your Mouth Full.” The film’s plot? According to the press release, the audience will be taken on a perilous journey with the film’s hero, whose paranoia leads him to believe that someone wants to lay a finger… in more ways than one.

Production begins this month and Lowe promises the film will give fans laughs, screams, fears, tears and an opportunity to participate in production. The film premiers October 13, 2011.

The New York Times best-selling author (Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography) will also make an exclusive public appearance this summer to meet fans and share the movie-making experience.

Getting Social With NASA Changed My Life

I’ll never forget my first time. The ground shook beneath my feet. A roar rumbled in my gut. Goosebumps tingled over my skin. I stood in awe watching rockets push away from the launchpad and skyrocket into the sky. The year was 2011 and I witnessed the final launch of space shuttle Endeavour and the second-to-last space shuttle launch before the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ended the program.
