Magic Kingdom's Frontierland circa 1974-ish

Magic Kingdom's Frontierland circa 1974-ish (Yes, that's me and my Dad and brother)

Hey there! Hi there! Ho there! I grew up in the 1970s and loved watching reruns of Annette, Cubby and the rest of the gang on the Mickey Mouse Club. I’m not sure which came first but when I was a kid, my parents took my siblings and me to Walt Disney World and I was immediately enchanted by Disney’s magic. I’m an adult now (forty-ish) and still love Disney.

Want proof? I have a cat named Mickey; for my wedding we had a Mickey and Minnie Mouse cake topper and my groom wore a Mickey Mouse vest; and I have a keen affection for Disney World’s roasted turkey legs! I’m the first to admit that although I have a few gray hairs, Disney continues to amaze me.

Holidays are HERE and if you’re stumped on what to give your favorite adult who already has just about everything, consider giving the gift of Disney magic in the form of a membership in Disney D23. C’mon, no one is EVER too old for Disney! In exchange for sharing info about Disney D23’s awesome Silver Membership, the agency Brandfluential and Disney D23 are supporting my travel habit.

  1. My favorite memory of Disney is my honeymoon. 3days on the Big Red Boat and 4 days in Disney!! Awesome!

  2. My first ever trip to WDW was in December 1971 – it was not a full 3 months old, I was 4 & my baby brother, 9 months! I still have two images from that visit (we stayed at Poly) one of me and Mickey (I’ve shown it to a “friend of Mickey” who was blown away by the changes) and one of me and Pinocchio. I do actually remember a little from that visit. For the 40th Anniversary we were there, among the first to enter, and there was Pinocchio so of course had to have an Anniversary photo with him! He was wonderful and when I told him of that first visit and photo he got very excited and gave me a huge hug! Another WDW memory I’ll treasure forever!

  3. I shared on Twitter with @RoriTravel – always thrilled to share such fun!

  4. And now on Facebook… you’re all set with the Disney action!

  5. Lots of Favorites – Been to Disney alone and with others – Each time I go I remember who I was there with before doing what I am doing.

Love my first time on Thunder Mountain Railroad and how much I love riding it over and over and over again now

  7. I live for Disneyland. I have been over and over again and can’t get enough. One of my most favorite memories was on a recent trip in Feb of 2011. I had the lucky experience of dining at Club 33. A friend of mine worked for a company with a membership and she got my husband and me in for dinner on my 26th birthday. A totally unforgettable experience!

  8. My favorite things about Disney , has to be the following exchange while in line at Space Mountain.
Me: Why is it so dark in here?
Disney Fan Tour Guide : It is darker in the ride. You are ok with roller coasters, right?
    Me: It’s a roller coaster?

Had a great time-will need to someday go back to hit the rest of the parks.
